The Athens Cancer Center began treating cancer patients in 1998. Since then Dr. Anderson and the Athens Cancer Center staff have helped over 1000 East Texans in the battle against cancer utilizing Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), 3-D conformal radiation therapy and conventional radiation therapy. If chemotherapy is indicated for a specific cancer type, this is coordinated with medical oncologists in Athens, Tyler and Dallas.
